University of Oregon left tackle Tyler Johnstone re-tore his ACL in his right knee last week and will undergo surgery on Friday. Johnstone suffered the same ACL injury against the Texas Longhorns last December in the Alamo Bowl.

Johnstone completed months of rehab and was cleared by doctors for practice. In the first week of fall football practice Johnstone heard a popping sound as his knee buckled in a non-contact play according to CSNNW.

Johnstone, a redshirt junior, started all 13 games for the Ducks in 2012 after redshirting in 2011 and was named Freshman All-American according to Yahoo Sports. Johnstone also started every game last season and was named honorable mention All-Pac 12.

Oregon led the Pac-12 in total offense, rushing and scoring last season and was set to return all five starters from the offensive line.

Redshirt junior Andre Yruretagoyena is the likely candidate to fill in at left tackle. The former four-star recruit in the 2011 class has appeared in 11 games for Oregon.
