Denver Broncos star quarterback Peyton Manning has been fined $8,268 by the National Football League for taunting Houston Texans safety DJ Swearinger during a preseason game last Saturday.

.

Near the end of the second quarter, Swearinger hit Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker in the end. Welker ended up getting his third concussion in a ten-month span. A couple of plays later, Manning threw a touchdown to Emmanuel Sanders. Manning than ran up to Swearinger and yelled at him, according to ESPN.

Manning received his first unsportsmanlike conduct call of his career. Following the game, Manning told reporters that getting the penalty did not really hurt the team.

“I think if you’re going to get one that’s a good time to get one.”

Swearinger would not tell reporters what Manning yelled at him, but he did say it wasn’t pleasant, according to the AP.

Today, Manning told ESPN NFL Insider Chris Mortensen that he won’t fight the fine and that it was a good investment.
