The Phoenix Suns signed two of their three first-round draft picks forward T.J. Warren and point guard Tyler Ennis on Friday.
Terms of the deals weren’t disclosed. However first-round picks usually get 120 percent of the rookie salary scale and have four-year contracts with two years guaranteed. Warren was the 14th pick in the draft. His deal is for four years and $9.48 million with options for the final two years. Ennis’s deal is also for four years and is worth $7.56 million with options for the final two years, according to Azcentral.
Warren and Ennis played in the Suns Summer League last month. In the Summer league Warren averaged 17.8 points and shot 54.4 percent from the field. Ennis averaged 4.2 points, four rebounds, 3.2 assists, which lead the team, and 1.6 steals, according to Arizona Sports.
Warren and Ennis signing gives the Suns 13 players who have guaranteed contracts. Their third first-round draft pick Bogdan Bogdanovic will continue to play in Turkey for at least the next two seasons. The status of restricted free agent Eric Bledsoe is unknown. He has turned down a four-year, $48 million offer from the Suns and hasn’t taken an offer from another team. Bledsoe could return to the Suns on a one-year, $3.7 million qualifying offer that would allow him to be an unrestricted free agent next summer.
