Pretty Little Liars fans are in an uproar on Twitter over Mona’s death in the fatal finale.

Hashtags #PLLFatalFinale and #RIPMona are trending on Twitter after misunderstood character Mona was killed in a gruesome way right when she was on the brink of revealing some major secrets regarding “A.”

Executive producer of the show, Marlene King, had warned The Hollywood Reporter that the finale would be shocking.

"I have goosebumps even telling you this, fans are going to be left speechless," King said. "I think it's one of those where, even people here who have seen the episode who work on the show, their jaws hit the floor. Tissue boxes were out; people were crying."

The character of Mona had a wild run on Pretty Little Liars: Mona was the first convicted “A,” the only one who knew Allison was still alive, and always seemed to be changing sides.

The actress who played Mona, Janel Parrish, took to Twitter to reassure fans that she was not gone forever.

Parrish also used her Twitter account to discuss the events of the finale with fans.

The show’s official Twitter page has been retweeting fans’ reactions ever since the fatal finale and also expressed its sadness in the death of Mona.

Fans still have #PLLFatalFinale and #RIPMona trending as the express their shock in the turn of events.

The episode “Taking this one to the grave” was Pretty Little Liars’ season five summer finale.
