The Toronto Raptors have reportedly been fined by the NBA for comments Drake made at his concert about Kevin Durant.
According to ESPN, on Monday, sources said that a $25,000 fine was imposed on the team because of comments the rapper and team ambassador made when Durant attended one of his shows.
At the conclusion of his Toronto show, Drake announced to the audience that the league’s reigning MVP was in attendance.
"Before we leave, I just want to show one of my brothers something," Drake told the crowd. "You know, my brother Kevin Durant was kind enough to come to the show tonight and watch us. I just want him to see what would happen if he came to play in Toronto. Let him know what would happen."
The crowd then cheered and broke into KD chants.
So what’s so bad about that? Well, the league viewed the rap star’s comments as a violation of the NBA's anti-tampering rules.
TSN reported that other athletes were also in attendance at the annual OVO Festival including Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James, Toronto Maple Leafs players Phil Kessel and Joffrey Lupul and Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista and infielder Jose Reyes.
