For someone as reserved and shy as Robert Pattinson, fame definitely has its pitfalls. The actor admitted he suffered from depression after he skyrocketed to fame for his role as Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga.
A very public cheating scandal involving his co-star, Kristen Stewart, and a married director likely didn’t mute the unwanted attention.
During an interview with Daily Telegraph, Pattinson admitted acquiring fame was a “struggle” in the beginning but he was soon forced to get used to it.
“I just accepted my life is something else and now I can't really remember what it was like before. So it's much easier to deal with,” he said.
He said of suffering from depression that it “never lasts long with me” and that he’s “too anxious” to go to therapy.
Pattinson was also quick to shoot down any sort of sympathy, explaining, “I kind of like my anxiety in a funny sort of way and I like my peaks and troughs.”
Lucky for him, none of that anxiety comes from the very public affair his ex-girlfriend had with her Snow White and the Huntsman director. He Esquire recently “sh-t happens.”
