Showtime announced on Monday that the fourth season of hit series Homeland will have a two-hour premiere.
Unfortunately that doesn't mean a super-sized first episode, rather episodes one and two will air back-to-back on Oct. 5.
“In the aftermath of Homeland’s stunning finale last season, there is such strong anticipation for the start of season four that we wanted to give Homeland fans an extra generous helping of Carrie and company,” executive vp of original programming, Gary Levine, said.
One new face for the fourth season is Mad Men alum Mark Moses, who was cast for a recurring role. He will play an expat who teaches political science at Quad-I-Azam University in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Mimrat Kaur also was tapped for a recurring role and Art Malik is set to appear in one episode of the next season.
The first trailer for the series dropped back in July and featured Claire Danes' Carrie Mathison back out in the field, working on a new mission in Pakistan.
New series The Affair will now debut earlier than planned, one week later on Oct. 12. The show will use Homeland as a lead-in.
The Affair is a 10-episode series that follows two marriages after and how affairs affect them. The Wire alum Dominic West, Maura Tierney, Joshua Jackson and Ruth Wilson star.
