Sherri Shepherd announced on Tuesday she will join Keke Palmer on Broadway for Rodgers & Hamerstein's Cinderella.

Shepherd, who made the announcement on The View, has been cast as Madame, Cinderella's evil stepmother, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Shepherd's time on The View comes to an end of Friday after her contract for the show expires. She is also set to appear in both an upcoming Chris Rock and Kevin Hart comedy film and Ride Along 2.

The casting reveal comes just a day after it was announced Palmer would be the first African-American actress to play the title role on Broadway. The Just Keke talk show host is also the youngest to play Cinderella at just 21 years.

"It's honestly one of those things that I can't believe is really happening," Palmer said. "I'm very excited. Very excited and nervous as well -- a bunch of feelings all at once."

Palmer and Shepherd will make their debut on the Broadway Theatre stage for Cinderella starting Sept. 9.
