TNT's new series starring the ever-killable Sean Bean debuted to respectable numbers in the ratings on Wednesday night.

The first telecast drew 2.6 million viewers, which is a decent start considering TNT didn't provide a strong lead-in program, according to The Hollywood Reporter. In the 18-49 demographic , 1 million viewers sat down and watched Legends, while 1.1 million were in the 25-54 demo.

Though the numbers are fairly solid, they don't quite compare to the premiere of The Last Ship on the same network, Deadline reports. The epidemic drama pulled in 5.3 million viewers and 1.5 million in the key demo and has already been renewed for a second season.

Other new summer series Murder in the First also debuted on TNT slightly stronger to 3.8 million viewers, but the series closed out lower at 3.4 million viewers. The police drama has not yet been renewed.

Legends also has been available early elsewhere, but didn't draw much in the way of early interested parties, though it hasn't been helped that there has been little promotion for the series.
