It has been reported that the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson has been to the hospital multiple times in the past week. He was released from the hospital today.
Benson was sent to the hospital because he has had issues with the altitude at the Saints' new training site, according to ESPN. He has been at practices for the Saint almost every single day.
There were instances earlier this year that have been a cause of concern for the 87-year-old owner. Back in May while in Atlanta for a meeting with other NFL owners, he had to be rushed to the emergency room to see if he had a possible concussion.
According to USA Today, soon after the incident in May Benson explained what transpired.
"Following my presentation, I accidentally tripped, and hit my head, having had knee surgery just over a week ago," Benson stated. "Out of an abundance of caution, the doctors wanted to clear me before we fly back home tonight."
New Orleans is coming off of a 2013 regular season that saw them earn 11 victories. Also, in the playoffs they earned the franchises first ever-postseason win. The organization looks to continue future progression as they prepare for the 2014 season.
