Birthday celebrations are in order for the One Direction community. We would like to wish Liam Payne a very happy 21st birthday today, Aug. 29!
After their successful run on the UK’s version of X Factor, One Direction’s music career skyrocketed, with members including Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Louis Thomlison, and Payne. Although it is common for a boy band to pick up a large following, One Direction’s fan base has developed a community-like feeling, where fans are able to connect with others from all over the world just because they, too, are fans of the five boys.
However, the One Direction fan base isn’t like other fan bases. Because the boys are quite silly themselves, many fans take it upon themselves to joke around with the boys, creating funny videos, picture collages, and obsessing over the boy’s friendships with one another.
