The 2014 Emmy awards will be airing tonight and showcasing some of televisions best actors and actresses.
The competition is high for best actress in a comedy series and former Saturday Night Live star, Amy Poehler is up against some seasoned actresses.
Starring as Leslie Knope in the hysterical comedy, Parks and Recreation, we will have to find out tonight who will win the honor while being against stars like Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Edie Falco, Lena Dunham and Melissa McCarthy.
We remember Poehler from her early days at SNL performing in skits that had us crying while we laughed. From her early days on the comedy sketch show to being an award-winning actress, we’re looking back to some of her best moments.

While performing on SNL we loved seeing the comedian sit alongside Maya Roudolph portraying two moms in the Bronx with their very own talk show. We adore how on point their accents are

In one SNL skit, Poehler portrayed young Dakota Fanning on her very own “talk show.” It made our list because of how mature Poehler made Fanning seem to be as a kid.

Usually a contestant on the Jeopardy spoof, Poehler would often play her version of Sharon Osbourne. A small dog of sorts usually accompanied her high-pitched voice but the impersonation of her was always hysterical.

The 2008 comedy Baby Mama, Poehler plays the surrogate mother to her real life BFF Tina Fey’s baby who’s looking to adopt. In one of her first film debuts, Poehler played the trashy mom-to-be perfectly.

While on SNL, Poehler often played the former first lady to Bill Clinton, Hilary Clinton. It was especially realistic when she stood next to Tina Fey as Sarah Palin.
