After 10 years, 123 episodes, 12 seasons and two continents, Chef Gordon Ramsay has decided to cease his Kitchen Nightmares franchise.
In Kitchen Nightmares, Chef Ramsay spends a week at struggling restaurants in the United States and the United Kingdom, and tries to help turn things around so that they can stay open for business and get out of debt. The process usually consists of a menu change and a restaurant makeover. Chef Ramsay is usually met with horrible food and service, dirty restaurant conditions, as well as owners and managers who are in denial and refuse to change the way things are.
Kitchen Nightmares premiered in the U.K. in 2004, and transition to the U.S. in 2007 on FOX.
Chef Ramsay made the announcement on his website on Monday. In it, he expressed how grateful he is to have had the experience, and that the show has had a long run and he is ready to pull the plug.
"I'm glad I've been able to entertain and hopefully help a few people along the way," Ramsay wrote. "It's sad to say goodbye to 'Kitchen Nightmares' but I'll be continuing with my other shows. It's been memorable! Thank you for watching."
Chef Ramsay's other shows on FOX include Hell's Kitchen, Master Chef, Master Chef: Junior, and the upcoming Hotel Hell.
