Washington Nationals outfield Jayson Werth was charged with reckless driving in early July.
According to the Washington Post, Werth was driving 105 MPH in a 55 MPH zone when he was pulled over on July 6 and was charged with a misdemeanor.
Werth was supposed to go to court last Friday for the incident, but the hearing was pushed back until Nov. 12, according to ESPN.
A Nationals spokesperson told the Washington Post that they have been talking with Werth about the incident for a couple of weeks.
“Jayson is cooperating with the authorities. As it is an ongoing legal matter the team has no further comment.”
According to CBS DC, a reckless driving conviction can result in jail sentence in Virginia.
This season, Werth is batting .279 with 12 home runs and 63 RBIs. Werth did not play in the Nationals last game after he injured his shoulder while making a catch against the Phillies earlier in August.
He was scheduled for an MRI on Tuesday, according to MLB.com.
