Rapper Young Jeezy, real name Jay Wayne Jenkins, was arrested and taken into custody on Sunday with five other people in connection to a fatal shooting in California on Friday.
Police spokesman Sgt. Saul Jaeger confirmed the rapper was arrested after cops carried out a search warrant on the rapper’s tour bus at the Verizon Amphitheatre in the city of Irvine.
According to The AP, 38-year-old Eric Johnson was killed at "Under the Influence of Music" concert, which Jeezy co-headlined with “We Dem Boyz” rapper Wiz Khalifa.
When police searched his car, they found an assault rifle, which led to his arrest, TMZ reports.
Jeezy is being held on $1 million on gun possession charges. He’s being held at the Orange County jail with several members of his entourage. Jaeger said no one has been identified as a suspect yet.
Young Jeezy is currently on tour with Khalifa, who was not arrested in connection with the incident.
