History's Houdini miniseries got off to a strong start with Part One on Sunday, pulling in enough to become the most-watched cable miniseries premiere this year.
The debut of the four-hour biopic miniseries pulled in a total of 3.7 million viewers for the premiere telecast, with 1.5 million of that in the 25-54 demographic, Deadline reports.
In the advertiser important 18-49 demographic, the Adrien Brody-starring miniseries attracted 1.2 million viewers, according to TheWrap.
Those numbers easily dwarf Lifetime's telepic Unauthorized Saved By The Bell Story, which could only pull in a total of 1.6 million viewers, but comes in fairly close to Houdini in the important demo.
The History Channel has been fairly successful with miniseries over the recent years. In 2012 Hatfields & McCoys did well, as did 2013's Bonnie & Clyde and The Bible.
The second part of Houdini, which also stars Kristen Connolly and Evan Jones, airs Tuesday night.
