The casting frenzy over at The CW’s Arrow has only continued as we get closer to the show’s third season premiere. The latest is Austin Butler, who has already starred in two shows for the network.
Butler has been cast to play a DJ named Chase who catches the attentions of Thea Queen (Willa Holland). It is expected that their professional relationship will become something more, although he won’t appear until the seventh episode of the season, notes Entertainment Weekly.
The 23-year-old Butler is already a television veteran, with a long list of credits that includes two short-lived CW shows. He appeared in the 2010-2011 series Life Unexpected and later played Sebastian Kydd on The Carrie Diaries, which was cancelled at the end of last season.
On Thursday, it was revealed that Matt Nable was cast as the villain Ra’s al Ghul. Brandon Routh, J.R. Ramirez, Rile Fukashima and Nolan Funk are also joining the show.
Arrow stars Stephen Amell as the DC Comics hero Oliver Queen and will kick off its new season on Oct. 8. Here’s the latest teaser:
