Demi Lovato showed love for her younger half-sister, Madison De La Graza. After people began to write cruel comments about the singer’s sibling, Lovato shot back with an angry message telling the bullies to leave her family alone.

De La Graza posted a humorous cooking video on Vine on August 31. What was supposed to be a cute clip turned nasty as commenters left unkind remarks about her appearance. According to International Business Times, people called the 12-year-old a “hunchback” along with other names.

Quickly, Lovato responded to her “fans” who left negative comments. According to FOX News Latino, more of her post read, “I’m all for peace and spreading love UNTIL you go after a 12 YEAR OLD who did NOTHING to you. . .@Maddielovesyou1 you are BEAUTIFUL and the most precious little angel in my life and I will always protect you.”

De La Graza suffers from severe scoliosis. The Mayo Clinic defines this condition as a curve in the spine that can cause other health issues especially in children.

Fans have joined with Lovato is standing up for her little sister by posting tweets with hashtags like #MADISONISBEAUTIFUL and #FeelBetterMaddie. Similarly, this incident has sparked discussions of cyber-bullying.
