NBC News promised a shake-up for Meet the Press and appears to be following through with that. The peacock network announced on Friday that Morning Joe’s Joe Scarborough will join the show and also said that new host Chuck Todd will get an interview with President Barack Obama.

Just last month, NBC News pushed out David Gregory, following years of dropping ratings. He is being replaced by Todd, a political junkie and host of MSNBC’s Daily Rundown. He will keep that job and the NBC News political director title.

Todd’s first big interview will be with the president. NBC promised that the topics they will cover include Ukraine, Russia, ISIS, the Ebola outbreak and midterm elections. The interview will air during the Sunday, Sept. 7 episode.

Scarborough will join as a regular roundtable contributor for the Washington talker. the former Republican Florida Congressman was also promoted within NBC News as a senior political analyst, which will mean that he will make more appearances on the Today Show and other NBC News shows. He will keep his day job as host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe.

"Joe has one of the best political minds in the NBC family,” Todd said in a statement. “His love of politics and passion for debate will guarantee the kind of robust conversation that has always been a hallmark of Meet the Press, and I look forward to the reported analysis he'll bring to the table."
