There are two different stories out there on the status of Joan Rivers’ condition and it’s unclear which one is true.
The Fashion Police host stopped breathing during a surgery on her vocal chords five days ago and has been in critical condition at Mount Sinai hospital in New York City ever since.
According to TMZ, Rivers is reliant on life support machines right now and her family is faced with the decision of whether or not to keep her going on it.
However, other sources told E! News “she's on the road to recovery.”
The source also said, “She's getting better. Don't believe all this ridiculous speculation.”
There are also conflicting reports on the state of mind of Rivers’ daughter, Melissa Rivers. Some reports say she’s completely frantic but the E! source gives a completely different account of her mindset.
"She is a rock. She is calmer than I've ever seen her," said the insider. "All these reports about doomsday are not true. She is her mother's daughter and she's tough as nails. She's the person keeping everyone together."
In a statement on Sunday, Melissa told fans "We are keeping our fingers crossed.”
