Assault charges that were placed against Justin Bieber last year in December regarding him assaulting a limo driver were reportedly withdrawn on Monday, September 8th.
In a report by ABC News, the singer's attorney, Brian Greenspan, said that, "On January 29, 2014, Justin Bieber was charged with assault in relation to an incident in Toronto that had allegedly occurred on December 29, 2013. Today we appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice in Toronto at which time that charge was withdrawn at the request of the Crown."
The limo driver alleged that the 20-year-old pop star repeatedly hit him on the back of the head during an altercation while he was driving him and five other people to a hotel.
Bieber's attorney continued his statement to ABC about the dropping of the charges, saying that the decision is much welcomed, and that the office of the Crown Attorney had a “thorough and thoughtful review of the evidence by responsible prosecutors,” that led to the decision.
However, Bieber, who is no stranger to run-ins with the law isn't home-free with Canada just yet. As we previously reported, he was arrested on August 29th after his ATV collided with a van near Statford, Ontario, Canada. He was arrested and charged with assault and dangerous driving.
Bieber is also currently on probation in L.A. after pleading no contest to misdemeanor vandalism for egging a neighbor's house in July.
