Oscar winner Denzel Washington has accomplished many things but is yet to host Saturday Night Live, which he says he wants to fix.

Washington recently participated in a Reddit “Ask Me Anything Chat” and answered random questions from fans, one of which was why he had never hosted Saturday Night Live since he is such a funny, charismatic man.

“That's a good question,” responded Washington. “I need to do that! It's not too late! They're still on right? They've been on like 30 years, right? Call NBC and tell them Denzel needs to host!”

This response began a hashtag "#DenzelToHostSNL" by fans of the actor.

Saturday Night Live has had actors and cast members imitate Washington many times on the sketch show, but the actor has never been on the show himself.

Fans on Reddit say they hope to start a campaign to get Washington on Saturday Night Live by using the hashtag and social media. According to Cinema Blend, similar campaigning techniques successfully got Betty White a gig on SNL.

Washington is currently promoting his new film The Equalizer, which comes out September 26. In the film, Washington plays a Boston cop who comes out of hiding to face Russian mobsters to fake his own death years before.
