With the NFL kicking off the 2014 season this weekend, fantasy football really gets into high gear. DISH is helping fantasy football players out this season with the ESPN Fantasy Football app to bring viewers fantasy data immediately while they watch live games.
The app will be available on DISH’s Hopper Whole-Home HD DVR player starting this weekend, rolling out to all DISH customers Friday night.
“Increasingly fans use mobile devices to immerse themselves in fantasy data as they watch live football games,” Jimshade Chaudhari, DISH director of product management said in a statement. “This app streamlines the NFL football viewing experience by consolidating real-time action and fantasy stats on one screen.”
The app’s L-shaped layout presents fans with all the instant stats they need, including weekly matchups, league standings, box scores, bench stats and fantasy players’ performances. It also shows profiles for individual players and defensive teams. The design of the app also doesn’t get in the way of enjoying live football games.
In order to get started, viewers just have to create a league at ESPN’s Fantasy Football site and then sign in to the app on Hopper with their ESPN log-in info.
