Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson is no stranger to controversial statements. He was suspended from his family’s A&E show in Dec. 2013 briefly after he made comments on homosexuality, but now he’s giving his perspective on the two beheadings of American journalists by the Islamic group ISIS.

During an appearance on Fox News, Robertson sat down with Sean Hannity to promote his new book unPHILtered: The Way I See It and gave his input into how we should handle the dire situation.

“You either have to convert them, which I think would be next to impossible… either convert them or kill them,” he said, Mediaite reports.

He added, “This is more like worldwide gang warfare. My opinion is we're going to have to deal with this group way more harshly than we have up to this point."

Robertson went on to liken them to “street gangs, street thugs on steroids.”

Last year, Robertson’s comments to GQ that “homosexual offenders” will not “inherit the kingdom of God” resulted in a suspension from his show.
