G.R.L. singer and former X Factor contestant Simone Battle's death officially ruled a suicide.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Coroner's office officially revealed the 25-year-old's cause of death on Monday, a day after an autopsy was scheduled, The Associated Press reports.
Battle was unfortunately discovered in the bedroom closet of her residence by her boyfriend on Friday. On Saturday it was reported that policed believed that she likely died of suicide, but wouldn't be sure until an autopsy was completed.
Anthony Battle, the young singer's father, spoke out on Saturday that her death took him completely by surprise. He explained that though he hadn't talked to her in awhile, she seemed to be doing fine and didn't suffer from depression as far as he knew.
Still, he admitted that she could have been quietly struggling. "It's possible she may have had an invisible disability," Anthony said.
Battle was a member of the all-girl group G.R.L., which was an up and coming band who got to sing the chorus to Pitbull's "Wild Wild Love." She also appeared on X Factor in 2011 and made it as far as the round of 17.
