George Clooney is confirmed to have filmed a guest starring stint on the beloved Downton Abbey after becoming friends with the show’s patriarch Robert Crawley, played by Hugh Bonneville. The two filmed The Monuments Men together.

ITV confirmed to People Clooney will appear in a sketch scene "around Christmas time” but will not be on a regular episode in the fifth season.

Clooney will appear in the one-off scene in support of ITV's Christmas charity "Text Santa.” The charity initiative supports six UK-based charities, such as Barnado’s, BeatBullying, British Heart Foundation, CLIC Sargent and Help the Hospices.

According to E! Online, Clooney already shot his scenes for the short film, which lasts only a few minutes. There are no plans at this time for Clooney to appear in a full episode of the period-piece drama.

The show’s long-awaited fifth season will premiere Jan. 4, 2015 in the U.S. and even earlier in the U.K.; Sept. 21.
