Big-name guests such as Donatella Versace and Kate Upton gathered at the Plaza Hotel on Sept. 5 in honor of the Harper’s Bazaar Celebrates ICONS by Carine Roitfeld party. The red-carpet event surely did not stop performer Lady Gaga from bellowing at her apparently too noisy crowd Friday evening.
Fox News reported that Gaga became outraged when the members of the audience continued to chatter throughout her performance, which included songs off her album with renowned jazz singer Tony Bennett.
She reportedly addressed the crowd, “Will you (expletive) shut up? We're playing some jazz.” She then added, “Goddamn rich people.”
Before singing a Cole Porter song, which she dedicated to her boyfriend, actor Taylor Kinney, Gaga berated the audience, saying "So, if you all keep it down while I sing my boyfriend a song, I'd appreciate it.”
Kinney escorted Gaga down the red carpet at the black-tie event, with Gaga sporting a gown hand-made by her sister, Natali Germanotta, recent Parsons Graduate, according to The New York Post.
Gaga and Bennett’s collaborative album, titled Cheek To Cheek, will be released on Sept. 23.
