Gwyneth Paltrow may have found religion after splitting from Chris Martin, a new religion that is. The Oscar winner is reportedly thinking about converting to Judaism, since she has ancestors who were Jewish.

Paltrow has been following Kabbalah in recent years and is friends with Kabbalah Centre co-director Michael Berg. Sources told The New York Post’s Page Six that she is now quietly switching to Judaism.

The actress was raised in a home with both Jewish and Christian traditions, since her mother, Blythe Danner, is Jewish. Her father, the late producer Bruce Paltrow, was Christian. (Of course, Paltrow is technically Jewish already, since anyone born to a Jewish mother is Jewish.)

The Post also notes that Paltrow discovered that she has a long line of Eastern European rabbis in her family tree while on NBC’s Who Do You Think You Are?. She has also said that she wants to raise children Apple, 10, and Moses, 8, in a Jewish home.

Paltrow’s reps didn’t comment on the story and she obviously didn’t talk about religion when she made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday. She appeared on the show to promote tonight’s Stand Up To Cancer special and talked about how her children take a bus to school.

“It was great. They seemed really happy. They got off the bus. They were smiling. They had backpacks,” she said, ABC News reports. “They go to a real school.”

Paltrow and Martin announced plans to separate earlier this year after 10 years of marriage. Martin has reportedly been dating Jennifer Lawrence, which Paltrow is OK with.
