Marvel announced on Monday that Agent Peggy Carter will make an appearance in the upcoming sophomore season of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..

George Stephanopoulos will also join Carter actress, Hayley Atwell, as a guest star, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

They will both show up in the second season premiere, titled "Shadows." Stephanopoulos will play himself in the episode where Clark Gregg's Coulson must now try and keep the world safe with S.H.I.E.L.D. now disbanded.

It isn't exactly known how Agent Carter will appear in the episode yet. She could show up in a flashback or perhaps like Captain America: The Winter Soldier, in aged makeup.

The second season of S.H.I.E.L.D. has a huge list of new additions, either in recurring roles or simply guest spots. Some new faces include Lucy Lawless as Isabelle Hartley, Adrianne Palicki as Mockingbird, Brian Patrick Wade as Carl "Crusher" Creel/the Absorbing Man, and many, many others.

Atwell also is getting her own series as Agent Carter, which is set after the end of World War II and she finds herself displaced by men returning home from Europe. Chad Michael Murray and Enver Ghokaj signed on as series regulars in late August.
