Family Guy won't be the only animated cartoon the Simpsons family will be visiting this fall. In addition to the Family Guy crossover, we now have more information about the Simpsons/Futurama crossover episode.
The first image from the upcoming episode was released by Entertainment Weekly, and shows Homer looking surprised as Bender points a hilarious number of weapons at him.
According to Entertainment Weekly the episode, called "Simpsorama," will be an elaborate time travel story where Bart blows his nose on a sandwich, puts it in a time capsule and, when mixed with radioactive ooze, this somehow creates a catastrophe in the future. Bender must go back in time to kill Bart, i.e Terminator, to prevent this from ever happening.
Simpsons creator Al Jean told Entertainment Weekly that the crossover was thought of in part because after Futurama went off the air last year, fans would love to have one last chance to see these characters, and that The Simpsons was a perfect place to do that.
The episode will seemingly be very self aware, as its tagline is "a show out of ideas teams up with a show out of episodes."
This crossover is actually the second animated show The Simpsons will be doing a crossover with this year after a crossover with Family Guy set to air later this month.
That Family Guy episode, called "The Simpsons Guy," will involve the Griffins accidentally ending up in Springfield and crossing paths with the Simpsons family, according to Variety.
"Simpsorama" will air on November 9th.
