Now that writer/director Todd Phillips has that pesky Hangover trilogy off of his back, he is diverting his attention towards making other projects. The one that he settled next is Arms and the Dudes, and it appears that two major up-and-coming male talents are in talks for the movie: Jesse Eisenberg and Shia LaBeouf.

TheWrap unveiled the movie's casting decisions, which was allegedly confirmed by a variety of anonymous individuals at Warner Bros. Apparently, LaBeouf has even been Phillips' top choice for his part for over a month.

The stars are aiming to play a pair of potheads who become an unlikely group of arms dealers after winning a $300 million contract from the government supplying America's allies in Afghanistan with weapons, according to TheWrap. Based on an article in Rolling Stone by Guy Lawson, the script is written by Jason Smilovic, with Phillips producing with Mark Gordon. Bryan Zuriff will executive produce.

Eisenberg, seen earlier this year in The Double and Night Moves, as well as heard in Rio 2, is currently in the midst of playing Lex Luther in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and has The End of Tour and American Ultra in post-production. He is also scheduled to work on Louder than Bombs and star in the sequel to Now You See Me in the not-too-distant future.

Meanwhile, LaBeouf, when not getting into legal trouble or putting on a surreal art show, has been seen in Nyphomanic: Volume I and Volume II earlier this year, and will soon be seen in Fury in November. He also recently signed on to star in Man Down, which will also star Gary Oldman and Kate Mara.
