Although he is no longer helming installments of the Fast and Furious series, director Justin Lin is not sitting at home twiddling his thumbs. In addition to directing the next Bourne movie, Lin is also in talks to call the shots on new episodes of HBO's True Detective's second season.

The business talk comes from The Hollywood Reporter, who says Lin is in the early stages with many details. Details like budgets and vision still need to be worked out.

Lin would be directing at least two episodes in the season, if the deals pans through. He will be directing Colin Farrell, Elisabeth Moss, Vince Vaughn, Taylor Kitsch and Michelle Forbes, who have all been confirmed to star in the new season.

While all the episodes in the first season were directed by Cary Fukunga, the director stepped down from helming any of the new season, and the station sought out more than one director for the newest set of episodes.

Other than Lin, little details have been confirmed about this new season in terms of who is directing. There were rumors back in July that William Friedkin (The Exorcist, The French Connection) may be working on this second season, but little information has come out since then.
