Naomi Grossman, known for the role of Pepper in American Horror Story: Asylum will be reprising the role of the AHS fan-favorite in the new season, American Horror Story: Freak Show.

Co-creator of the American Horror Story series, Ryan Murphy, confirmed that Pepper will be a part of the interesting cast of characters for Freak Show, to Entertainment Weekly. Murphy said that Freakshow "is sort of like what happened to Pepper before she went to the asylum.”

Rumors about Grossman coming back as Pepper began in July when an unofficial call sheet was leaked onto an Argentinean AHS Facebook fan page. It listed the cast, as well as the characters they would be playing- and Grossman as Pepper was one of them.

Freakshow takes place in 1952, which is 12 years before Asylum, and features fan-favorite actress, Jessica Lange, playing Elsa Mars, who manages a group of so-called "circus freaks"- Pepper being one of them.

Grossman reprising the role is a first in AHS history. While cast members are recurring for every season of the series, they've never played a previous role in any two seasons of the show, so far. And according to Murphy, it wasn't an easy decision, either. "We thought about it long and hard and we decided that it was interesting to do."

American Horror Story: Freak Show premieres Oct. 8 at 10PM ET on FX.
