Producers of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella announced on Wednesday that NeNe Leakes will be playing the evil stepmother starting in late November and that the musical will take a final bow in early January.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta starlet will take over for former Viewco-host Sherri Shepherd on Nov. 25, The Associated Press reports. She will then harass Keke Palmer's Cinderella until the show closes its curtains for a final time early next year.
Shepherd was only announced for the role of the evil stepmother in early August and hasn't even stepped into the role yet. Neither has Palmer, who will begin to play the title character this week.
Palmer will take over for Paige Faure, who replaced Carly Rae Jepsen. She in turned took over the role from the first Cinderella of the current run, Laura Osnes.
Cinderella will finish out its run on Jan. 3 after nearly two years, 770 regular performances and 41 previews. The musical snagged nine Tony Award nominations, but only managed to actually win one.
The current run featured an updated story by Douglas Carter Beane, who opted to keep many of the show's beloved songs, such as "Do I Love You Because You're Beautiful?" and "In My Own Little Corner."
