The now obsolete Jonas Brothers became well known for wearing purity rings, but youngest brother Nick Jonas, 22, has joined older brother Joe and has taken his off.
During an interview with HuffPost Live on Tuesday, Jonas, who's currently dating former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo, explained his motives behind no longer wearing the ring.
He said his “belief in God is still very strong” but he has decided that he no longer wants to make the promise not to have sex before marriage.
“This is a real growth in me and not something I'm doing anymore, but I've got my set of values, things that are important to me now at this point in my life and that's all that matters,” adding he’s had “an incredibly intense journey with faith and religion and my own growth.”
Oldest brother, Kevin Jonas, is the only brother who kept his promise by wearing the purity ring. He waited to have sex until he married his wife, Danielle Jonas, in 2009.
Meanwhile, middle brother Joe Jonas has previously admitted to losing his virginity to his ex-girlfriend Ashley Greene.
In a revealing essay he wrote for Vulture in Dec. 2013, Kevin also said he smoked marijuana with Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato and got drunk at age 16 or 17.
