Sofia Vergara is the top earning TV actress, once again. The actress is the star of ABC’s long-running Modern Family, which has launched her into the mainstream and kept her there for the past five seasons.
Vergara’s earnings from the show have only gone up. Back in 2012, she was No. 1 with only $19 million. In 2013, she raked in $30 million. But between June 2013 and June 2014, she made an astonishing $37 million, Forbes estimates.
In addition to the show and its syndication life, Vergara has countless business and endorsement deals with companies like Pepsi Cola, CoverGirl and Head & Shoulders. She is also the co-founder of Latin World Entertainment.
Vergara earned over $10 million more than her male counterpart, Two and a Half Men’s Ashton Kutcher. Last month, Forbes named him the top-earning TV actor, but he’s “only” earned $26 million.
Back on her own list, Vergara leaves everyone else in the dust. Law & Order: SVU’s Mariska Hargitay came in second with $13 million. Kaley Cuoco of The Big Bang Theory is No. 3 with $11 million. She will likely be a contender for the top spot next year, since she’ll be earning $1 million per episode this season. (Vergara and the top-tier Modern Family crew make $350,000 per episode.)
The rest of the list features:
Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife, $10 million)
Ellen Pompeo (Grey’s Anatomy, $10 million)
Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother, $10 million)
Alyson Hannigan (How I Met Your Mother, $9.5 million)
Amy Poehler (Parks & Recreation, $7 million)
Mindy Kaling (The Mindy Project, $6.5 million)
Kerry Washington (Scandal, $6 million)
Zooey Deschanel (New Girl, $6 million)
