Previously on Teen Wolf , the mystery of the dead pool was solved. Peter manipulated the entire thing, and no one is surprised. Although, he’d had those memories stolen so he was able to get away scot-free, again. On the topic of Peter, his and Kate’s master plan was finally revealed; their deepest, darkest desire is to kill Scott McCall. The “why” isn’t completely clear yet, but we do still have two more episodes this season. In this episode, there were a lot of quick scenes and stories that didn’t necessarily connect this episode, but we’ve chosen to relate the main ones, so let’s get right down to it.
Deaton goes to Eichen
So, Eichen House totally has a super secret, unlisted floor filled with supernatural beings. Deaton goes for a visit; he’s there to find out what exactly Kate Argent did to Derek Hale to take away his wolf powers. He ends up getting a bit more than he bargained for since the patient he visits sends him on some sort of vision quest.
While he’s under, he becomes unresponsive to the outside world. The doctors are about to admit him to Eichen, when Lydia shows up, demanding to speak with him. Well, if there’s anyone who could get through, it’s Lydia.
Liam is not okay
Okay, we love Liam so much. In a world where you have to fight to stay alive every week, Liam is an example of someone who’s a bit too young and a bit too scared. He doesn’t have Stiles’ ability to disconnect, or Scott’s ability to put fear aside when the people he loves are in danger. Liam doesn’t always want to fight. In fact, he’s scared to even turn out the light at night, which is understandable; we’ve been there and we've never had assassins out for our heads. If Scott is who we aspire to be, Liam is just a little closer to the reality.
Chris Argent needs a break
Chris baby, why oh why couldn’t you just live your obviously-beyond-redemption sister alone? While tracking down his sisters all the way to the sewers, Chris ends up running into Kate’s current co-conspirator, Peter. In this case, Kate might have been the lesser of two evils. Peter can’t let Papa Argent leave, so he decides the best way to stop him is to ram a metal rod through Chris’ middle.
Deputy Parrish eventually shows up to rescue him like the superhero he is. He talks Chris into getting angry—and there’s a lot for him to be angry about—to get his adrenaline pumping, and together they pull out the rod.
Peter is manipulative and no one is surprised
Still up to his manipulative ways, Peter decides the perfect place for a “clandestine” meeting with his daughter is at her boyfriend’s lacrosse game. He offers to give her information on the whereabouts of her mother if she promises to do a little favor for him—kill Kate Argent. And that is why you never become allies with Peter Hale. Or affiliated with him in any way.
Scott and Kira go on a date
We’ve finally got some romance going on with Scott and Kira, folks. Scott has (sort of) planned a date for them. It starts out extremely cute—perfectly dimmed lights hung from Derek’s loft, Star Wars, and lots of making out. Yet the night quickly turns sour when Kate and one of her Berserkers crash through the window.
Kate claims she’s there to take them to church. But first, she just has to ask, “What the hell is so special about Scott McCall?” Have you even been paying attention these last four seasons, Kate? Scott is a beautiful true alpha who loves and protects everyone. Duh.
Only this time that’s not enough to stop Kate from taking Scott back to Mexico, to turn him into a Berserker, or from dumping Kira in a skeleton-riddled cage.
And that’s it for this week. Someone we tend to end Teen Wolf episodes feeling overwhelmed and yet also saying, “Wait, what even happened?” Next time on Teen Wolf , will the pack battle Scott as a Berserker? Will Malia really kill Kate to find her mother or will she find another method and denounce her manipulative dad? Tune in next week for the season finale!
