Previously on Teen Wolf, Scott and Kira were enjoying their first official date, when Kate kidnapped them both right out of Derek’s loft. While Kira is unceremoniously dumped into a cell filled with skeletons, Kate turns Scott into a berserker. And now, we’ve come to the final episode of the season. The one where everything that’s been building and building, finally all comes together. So without further ado, let’s begin.

Scott is a berserker

Kate lets Kira out in order to test Scott-the-Berserker’s loyalty—will he really stab his friend on command? The answer is yes, yes he will. We know it’s not his fault, he doesn’t know what he’s doing, etc. Still, we can’t help but be a little pissed that he doesn’t reach deep inside himself and somehow use his true alpha powers to fight off Kate’s influence.

Kira continues to be awesome

Kira might be kidnapped, bleeding to death thanks to her boyfriend, and far from home, but that’s still not enough to stop her. Bloody and broken, she still manages to conjure her remaining power, and teaches herself how to heal.

Stiles goes to Mexico

Stiles informs his dad that he really needs to go to Mexico to save Scott and Kira. Unfortunately, the Sheriff thinks that is ludicrous, since all their information is based on a man with a third eye. He’s right, of course, but that doesn’t stop Stiles from gathering the rest of the pack, including Peter and Braeden, and heading right on down to La Iglesia, across the border.

Liam is handcuffed

The band is not complete without Liam, who insists he be handcuffed in the back of Braeden’s U.S. Marshall truck, since it’s a full moon. That was maybe not the greatest idea. As hard as Liam tries, he is still very new to this. It’s a close call, but Derek’s chant eventually works (after Liam almost claws Derek’s face off).

Chris Argent arrives with guns blazing

Once Argent and his team, plus Parrish, join the rest of them in Mexico, it’s just guns and more guns. It feels like a full-on action movie at this point, with lots of slow motion fight sequences.

Peter gets his battle

At the church, it’s Liam who talks Scott down, reminds him that he’s not a monster—he’s a werewolf. And with that, Scott realizes that it was Peter all along. Peter’s true plan, to take back what he believes is his family’s power from Scott, is finally revealed. Scott and Peter fight each other—or more accurately, they fly at each other. And Scott lands a particularly good punch that knocks Peter right out. Peter is turned in to Eichen House, Kate escapes, and Scott once again saves the day.

So what did we learn from this episode of Teen Wolf ? For one, it always had to be Chris who got Kate, so him going with the Calaveras to hunt her down, in exchange for them leaving Scott and the pack alone, makes complete sense. Also, everything is better when Lydia is there. Even the pack’s enemies knew that, which is why they tried to keep her away from her friends for the entire episode. And finally, we learned that Derek, is officially a Pokémon, who evolves, and becomes stronger. We wonder what this second-stage Derek, with his ability to crush berserkers with his bare hands, should be called. Any ideas?

Well that’s it for this season of Teen Wolf. Next time we’re hoping for a little more conversation, a little less action.
