What better way for PaleyFest NYC 2014 to end than with an appearance from the cast and an executive producer of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, the big screen-dominating juggernaut media company's first foray into live-action television?
Executive producer Jeph Loeb and S.H.I.E.L.D. stars Clark Gregg, who plays Agent-turned-director Phil Coulson, Chloe Bennet, who plays hacktivist-turned-agent Skye, and Ming-Na Wen, who plays butt-kicking, second in command Agent Melinda May, hit the red carpet in style.
And TheCelebrityCafe.com was there to cover the event, and had the chance to talk to the guests about where their characters and the show are at this season, what's to come and more.
Interview with Chloe Bennet, who posed for photos with spunk and humor much like her character.
TheCelebrityCafe: How do you think Skye's new skills and role on the team has changed her?
Chloe Bennet: God, this season, she's a lot different, she's a lot darker this season. I think after the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the uprise of Hydra, she's kind of taking herself more seriously.
At the beginning of the show she wasn't even sure if she believed in what S.H.I.E.L.D stood for and now she's all for it. She's been a lot—the difference between her last season at the beginning of the season and this season's beginning of the season are just night and day, and she's really matured and it's just been nice to have my life kind of parallel that as well.
TCC: How do you think she is coping with Ward's betrayal?
CB: She's had May as her S.O. so I think she's learned from her to kind of internalize that and really use that in her training, into her field agent training, so I think she's really just kind of put that energy towards being a better agent.
TCC: How do you feel about the new team members and shift in power dynamics?
CB: It's interesting. I love how the first episode really just dropped the audience into the new S.H.I.E.L.D, you know we have a routine already, there's new characters that we've already established relationships with, but the audience hasn't so I really like how that was the beginning of the season. I mean, it mixes it up. It's kind of nice it's not just six of us on the plane just only together all the time anymore. It's nice to mix up the dynamic. We have Nick Blood (new member Lance Hunter) and Adrianne Palicki (badass Bobbi Morse, aka "Mockingbird") and Adrian Pasdar (Brigadier General Glenn Talbot), and we have a lot of really great guest stars.
