This week on Awkward., Jenna landed herself in a love triangle with Tamara and Owen; Matty arranged a double-date with Gabby, Sadie, and Sergio that went awry; and Jake tried to deflect attention from his rating on the Dude Database.
Jenna arrived at school with hot chocolate for herself and Tamara. They witnessed how badly the Dude Database has affected the male population at school as Matty ran away from girls yelling #ManWhoreMcKibben at him. He approached the girls and expressed his understanding at why they were worked up over the Phone Book.
The Julies commented on the amateur quality of the Dude Database, irking Tamara, who tried to defend it. After she was shushed by Jenna, Val called Jenna to her office for questioning about who made the database. She made a quick getaway after #TwoInchRich requested counseling.
Meanwhile, Jake expressed his hurt at being coined #NotSoNaughtyRosati as Matty made fun of him for being "a generous lover." They bumped into Gabby, who questioned Matty about his status in the Dude Database. After some charming, he managed to get her to go on a double-date with him, Sadie, and Sergio.
In the cafeteria, Lissa approached Theo and Cole, asking them about where her father will go after he dies. They educated her about "gay heaven." This satisfied her for the moment, until she learned of other types of heaven. Sadie finally set her straight by telling her she still believed in love after Austin. "Who you love shouldn't matter when it comes to heaven," She explained, before going to pick up Sergio for their date.
Tamara learned of Jenna's hook-up with Owen after he kissed her cheek, thinking she was the one who included him in the database. Jenna received a shock when Tamara revealed she also hooked up with Owen. She chased her best friend into her French class where they whisper-yelled at each other about their disastrous failed relationships. After being kicked out of the room, Jenna confronted Owen and told him to stay away from Tamara as to not ruin their friendship anymore.
Jenna came home from school and asked her mom for advice on how to handle the situation. Lacey told her altering the truth to not hurt anyone's feelings was the best way to do it. Jenna headed to Tamara's house to do just that, but it backfired. She didn't realize Owen was already there and told Tamara everything. Jenna and Tamara got into another fight that had nothing to do with Owen; they fought about Jenna always making everything about herself.
Jake desperately wanted to get rid of his nice guy reputation. He went to Natalie's house, dressed as a plumber to woo her. Natalie was stunned by his new look and sat him down to tell him that being himself was sexy enough. Jake was content with being a nice guy, which he should be. He shouldn't have to change because of what some girls wrote about him on a website.
Matty, Gabby, Sadie, and Sergio went mini-golfing for their double-date. Gabby wanted to split into teams, but Matty felt that would be unfair as they were the only two athletes in the group. It turned out Matty was awful at mini-golf, making it easy for Sadie and Sergio to win against him and Gabby. After betting a kiss for a hole-in-one, Gabby was unimpressed with him, thinking he was just playing her. He gave up, making her believe he couldn't handle a challenge. Matty turned the tables on her, saying she was afraid to take on a challenge like him. Gabby was impressed with this new side of Matty and kissed his cheek.
Back at school, the Dude Database was still destroying friendships, so Val called a mandatory assembly to mend fences among the students. Dubbed "UR the Change," everyone sat in circles to talk about the things they hate. Sadie started the exercise by going off on Val for arranging the exercise, and how she should be fired again. Everyone took turns including Lissa, Gabby, and Matty. It was Tamara's turn as she vented about her drama with Jenna and Owen. Jenna spun around and fought back. Their yelling match turned into both revealing they were jealous of each other. They quickly made up and shared a hug. They were best friends again.
Jenna and Tamara made sure Owen was OK after he got dragged into their fight. He was totally cool with having two senior girls fight over him. He was becoming a legend in his class. The girls also decided to counteract the bad ratings on the database with some good ones including one that made Kyle do a public victory dance.
Jenna went to delete the database with Tamara trying to stop her. The damage was already done; everyone in school received an alert that Jenna was the one who created the site. Uh oh...
Quote of the Week: "I get why you all hate each other. I hate some of you, too,"" Val, when she was introducing ""UR the Change."
