Blake Griffin has opened up about his first meeting with ex-Clippers owner Donald Sterling, revealing more details about the disgraced former owner’s character.

Griffin shared the details about his first encounter with Sterling after being drafted by the Clippers in 2009, on Derek Jeter’s website, The Players’ Tribune, reports the Business Insider.

In the post, Griffin describes being led around Sterling’s annual White Party, escorted by two models hired by Sterling. Griffin writes that Sterling introduced him to every guest at the party, making him uncomfortable.

Griffin says, “Donald Sterling literally introduced me to everyone. Here’s how he did it, every single time, to every single group of people, while holding on to my hand:

‘Everyone, have you met our newest star? This is Blake! He was the number one pick in the entire NBA draft. Number one! Blake, where are you from?’

“Then I’d say I was from Oklahoma.

‘Oklahoma! And tell these people what you think about LA.’

“Then I’d say it was pretty cool.

‘And what about the women in LA, Blake?’”

In addition to talking about his awkward first encounter with Sterling, Griffin also writes about how he felt when he first heard his former boss’ now infamous recording, saying that he was shocked at first but wasn’t very surprised at it. He also describes Sterling as “a weird uncle” in the piece and says that he is “off his rocker,” reports TMZ.

Griffin ends the post by saying, “Someone asked me the other day if I’m mad that he made out with $2 billion for selling the team. Maybe a little bit. But in the end, I’m just happy he’s gone.”
