Rush Hour is coming back, but maybe as a new TV series.

A show based on the popular action films featuring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker is being developed, according to Deadline. Series director Brett Ratner will be an executive producer on the show, along with Arthur Sarkissian. Bill Lawrence will be a co-writer on the series and an executive producer.

The films followed a straight rule-following police officer from Hong Kong who partners with an overconfident police officer in Los Angeles, played by Chan and Tucker. The show is believed to follow the same premise.

To date, Lawrence hasn’t worked on or with the action genre, but is familiar with comedy. He’s credited for creating the show Scrubs, according to The Verge.

The first Rush Hour cost only $33 million to make, according to Box Office Mojo, but earned back over four times its budget in the U.S alone upon release in 1998. Along with its sequels, counting worldwide revenue from the website, the series made over $800 million.
