Shirley MacLaine is dishing on her former co-star Jack Nicholson, who she starred opposite in Terms of Endearment in 1983.
MacLaine won an Oscar for her role in the film, and she gives Nicholson credit for it because of his spontaneity and ability to keep her on her toes.
"If I knocked on the door, for example, in a scene and he would come to it, he would come dressed practically nude," she told FOX411.
"Another time, he answered the door with a hooker,” she continued. “Another time, he answered the door with his face all smashed up with sugar."
She said a big part of why she was “good” in the film was because of incidents like that. “He was always doing stuff that I hadn't anticipated," she said.
MacLaine will next appear in Elsa & Fred opposite Christopher Plummer. She spoke with the Wall Street Journal about the role, saying, “When I was 21 I could play 32, and when I was 32 I could play 29. And now if they need old people—who else is alive? They have to come to me. I’m OK with that.”
