Variety’s Power of Women luncheon honored some of Hollywood’s leading ladies on Friday. The stars honored at the awards luncheon included Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Lopez.

According to Extra, the event, which is presented by Lifetime, honors five women in Hollywood for their contribution to charity.

In addition to honoring Lopez and Witherspoon, the event also honored actresses Viola Davis and Jane Fonda, and movie mogul Donna Langley.

Witherspoon was honored for her work with the Malala Fund which supports girls’ education. Fonda created the Campaign for Adolescent Power & Potential 20 years ago, originally started to help reduce teen pregnancy. Davis was honored for her work with Hunger Is, a charity that works to reduce child hunger. Davis shared her own memories of going hungry and living in poverty at the luncheon, reports Daily Digest News.

Lopez was also honored for her work with children. Her charity involved working with families in need of quality healthcare.

Lastly, Langley spoke about her involvement with the event and what it meant for women in positions of power, saying, “I want them to grow up in a world where female empowerment and female rights are a birthright.”
