The ‘White Knight’ has arrived in Gotham City
Jim arrives at Barbara’s apartment with Selina and finds the note she left for him. He realizes that she is gone until things calm down. Jim wants Selina to describe to the sketch artist the man responsible for the Wayne murders. He also informs her that she will be staying at Wayne Manor. Alfred is very skeptical to let Selina stay because he fears it will put Bruce’s life in danger. Bruce overrules Alfred, saying she can stay. Bruce and Selina meet for the first time. We see a genius bomb maker Ian Hargrove being transported from Blackgate Prison when the police van is ambushed by two cars who take out all of the GCPD officers. He then is told to get out of the van and that “it’s time.”
Harvey Dent and Jim Gordon meet for the first time. Jim tells Harvey they don’t have enough evidence to accuse someone yet. Dent has a theory that a man named Dick Lovecraft could be behind the Wayne murders. Lovecraft had a long feud with Thomas Wayne and Dent would bet his career that he was involved. Dent wants to leak that they have a secret witness in order to get Lovecraft to confess. Jim is okay with this plan as long as no names are revealed…just the story.
Alfred and Bruce are boxing outside while Selina looks on. She is adjusting to life at Wayne Manor and it seems that Bruce may have feelings for her.
Oswald is rifling through Liza’s apartment and finds a shirt that he sprays her perfume on and he seems to recognize the smell. He steals the items moments before Liza returns. She immediately notices someone has been there.
Jim and Harvey are interrogating Ian Hargrove’s brother. His brother is not sure who would want to break him out and says that his brother isn’t a bad person, but that he is sick. We see Ian building a bomb and putting it inside a gift basket that is delivered to Gotham Munitions Factory. We see the bomb explode as Ian looks on.
The relationship between Bruce and Selina continues to develop as he is very curious about her past. Alfred calls Jim and tells him he isn’t sure if this arrangement is going to work.
Oswald pays Fish a visit at her club. He recognizes the scent from Liza’s apartment on Fish. He tells Fish that he is just trying to be friendly.
Harvey and Jim find out that the explosive Hargrove stole was HMS, which is military grade and 10 times more powerful than C4. Jim tells Harvey that Barbara left and Harvey thinks it is a ploy and that she will be back. Edward arrives with a nameplate he found in the shrapnel from the explosion and it contains a nameplate of an abandoned metal factory. Jim and Harvey arrive at the factory and find Hargrove handcuffed to a table. He claims the Russians kidnapped him and threatened his family if he refused to help. He says they are planning something big against Falcone. The Russians arrive and a shootout occurs, from which they are able to escape with Hargrove.
Bruce catches Selina right before she is about to leave. They continue to grow closer by talking about the night his parents were murdered and about Selina’s mother.
Harvey Dent meets with Lovecraft and tries to get him to confess of conspiracy to murder Thomas and Martha Wayne. Lovecraft laughs in his face and tells him it will never happen. We see an aggressive side of Dent as he warns Lovecraft not to cross him. We also see Jim tell Mayor James that he is responsible for the lack of security that allowed Hargrove to be broken out of prison. Harvey has a file for a man named Gregor Kasyanov who has a beef with Falcone. We see him meet with Fish where she tells him Falcone was behind the death of his former boss. It seems that a plan is in motion to hurt Falcone where it would hurt him the most…his money.
Bruce is continuing his training while Selina observes him. She tells him that he would never last on the streets of Gotham. They share a nice moment at breakfast together where they have a food fight with a kiss from Selina being the prize. Alfred walks by and notices the happiness on Bruce’s face. He talks with Jim on the phone and tells him Selina can stay.
Liza arrives at her apartment to find Oswald waiting for her. He knows that Liza is spying on Falcone for Fish and assures her that her secret “is safe with him” and that she is going to continue to work for Fish.
Edward gives Jim and Harvey a clue that leads them to the Gotham Armory Basement where Gregor and his men have Hargrove rig a bomb that can detonate through iron. The men start taking all of Falcone’s money out when Harvey, Jim and members of the GCPD arrive to stop them. Jim promises Hargrove that his family is safe right as a bomb that was rigged by Fish that is underneath the truck detonates, killing Gregor and his men while Falcone’s money is destroyed. Butch informs Fish of what happened and she is satisfied with the results, saying the point of this was to hurt Falcone.
Mayor James announces new plans to make Arkham Asylum a remedial facility for the criminally insane. Hargrove is one of several patients on the way there.
Dent talks with Jim and tells him he talked with Lovecraft and that this is only just beginning.
Jim calls Barbara and tells her he loves her and wants her to come back. We see Barbara in bed with Renee as the episode ends.
