Stephen Collins’ divorce from estranged wife Faye Grant will take even longer, as the trial that was supposed to start today in Los Angeles has been delayed.

As we previously reported this morning, Collins’ trial was set to start today. The former 7th Heaven actor had filed for divorce from Grant over two years ago. The two had been married since 1985.

The trial has been delayed to allow Grant to find another attorney, The Associated Press reports. Larry Ginsburg filed a motion to resign only hours before the eight-day trial was set to start.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon then granted the motion. According to USA Today, Ginsburg said he couldn’t represent Grant since there was a break in the attorney-client relationship. Gordon agreed and also stated that this wasn’t just a delay tactic.

The trial is meant to decide how to split up the couple’s assets and if Grant would receive spousal support.

Of course, this trial wouldn’t be getting any media attention had a 2012 tape of a therapy session not leaked on TMZ last month. In the tape, Collins allegedly admits that he molested young girls, causing him to later lose a series of acting jobs. Grant denies leaking the tape.
