Actor Stephen Collins and his wife, Faye Grant, probably would have been able to get a divorce trial without much media attention. But his situation completely changed last month when a tape of him allegedly admitting to molesting underage girls leaked. Now, the trial is about to start in Los Angeles.

The trial has been scheduled to start today, reports The Associated Press. The main goal of the trial will be to decide how to split their assets.

Collins’ attorney has cited damages to the actor’s career, adding that he shouldn’t have to pay spousal support. Grant disagrees, and is seeking $13,000 a month in support.

Collins and Grant married in 1985. The former 7th Heaven star filed for divorce two years ago.

Back in October, TMZ posted a tape of a 2012 therapy session, in which Collins said he had sexually molested young girls.

The Star Trek: The Motion Picture actor, who also wrote erotic novels in the ‘90s, lost several acting jobs after the tape came out, including his Scandal role.

TMZ reported late last month that Collins’ lawyer filed paperwork claiming that he’s not getting any jobs because of the leaked tape, so his only income comes from investments and pension.
