While ABC had difficulty launching a comedy block on Tuesdays this season, the network is enjoying some unprecedented success on Fridays, giving a full season order to Cristela.

The series, which stars Cristela Alonzo as a law school graduate also dealing with her Mexican-American family, airs on Fridays following Tim Allen’s Last Man Standing. As Entertainment Weekly notes, the show has done well at that slot, drawing 5.19 million viewers for its latest episode.

Cristela began in October with 6.57 million viewers and a 1.3 18-49 rating. As Deadline notes, the series has done well in the key demo, never falling below a 1.0.

Alonzo co-created the series with showrunner Kevin Hench. It is a 20th Century Fox TV.

Cristela is just the second new sitcom of the season to get a full freshman season. ABC also put in a back nine for Wednesday’s Black-ish. NBC only put in a partial back order for Marry Me.

ABC batted .500 with its new comedies. Tuesday’s Manhattan Love Story and Selfie were both cancelled.
