Al Roker is currently reporting on the nation’s weather, and will continuously do so until Friday morning.
The famous NBC meteorologist is currently trying to complete a Guinness World Record with a weather forecast that’s virtually uninterrupted for 34 hours, according to Today. The event, dubbed Rokerthon, began Wednesday night and won’t stop until Friday morning at 8:00 a.m during Friday’s edition of Today. Rokerthon is also being done to aid in earning money for the USO.
The New York Daily News reported that the rules by Guinness allow Roker to earn a five-minute break for each hour he’s up, and that he could accumulate minutes for a longer break.
During the event, Roker told Today that he would eat high-protein foods in combination with natural fatty foods like nuts, drink green tea or water, and that he would use an “exercycle” for exercise. He reported discussed his plan with Dr. Tanya Benenson of NBC Universal.
Currently, a live stream of Rokerthon can be seen here on Today’s website.
