There’s only one way to tell if you have the intelligence of a kindergartener and that involves viewing popular series, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? Luckily for fans, the show will return to FOX after being cancelled by the family-friendly network five years ago.
According to The Hollywood reporter the show will return to television, accompanied by its original host, Jeff Foxworthy and executive producer, Mark Burnett. The revival has been accredited to the high ratings of its sister series, Master Chef Junior. Clearly building on FOX’s child proof brand, Fox reality chief Simon Andreae explains the benefits of restoring, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?.
It "shares so much DNA with the Fox brand that it feels only natural to return it to the schedule – it's smart, witty, irreverent and it turns the adult-child power dynamic upside-down," said Simon as she teased fans with little information on some additional twists, being added to the show.
As USA Today reported, adults are quizzed on subjects such as, Elementary- level art, geography, math and social studies. If need be, grade-school students are available for assistance. Usually realizing the difficulty of the fifth-grade material, many contestants have to admit to not being smarter than a fifth grader, suggesting that their dreams of playingWho Wants to Be a Millionaire are out of the question.
